RENT! The musical! Playing at Pioneer Theatre Company now! Go check it out before it closes this weekend!
Okay, so… I am totally a fan of Rachel Moulton. She’s so fucking hilarious! First, in Black Comedy. Now, in Rent.
Her performance in Rent was the perfect angle for the opening night party blog. Get a sneak peak of her performance in Rent plus a few other “behind-the-scenes”-like bonuses at my guest blog for PTC: Moo for Me - Rent Opening Night Party.

Last week, I attended the Pioneer Theatre Company rendition of Sunset Boulevard. Opening night, baby! I had never seen the movie or musical before, but to describe it… It’s like The Graduate with sung dialogue in film noir style. Lynne Wintersteller does so well, I’m scared to step foot in her house (if I was ever invited, of course… no stalking here) for fear of coming within her grasp.
The night was a blast. Read more about it through my guest blog for PTC: http://www.pioneertheatre.org/blog/2011/05/the-eyes-have-it.html.

Occasionally (although it may be weird), I like to go through my favorite food blogs when I eat. I came upon Seasaltwithfood’s blog about spiral potatoes during lunch one day and was inspired for dinner. I had fond memories when I first experienced them in Taipei.
Friday, the (unsaid) sanctioned day for plans… I’m proud to announce, my friend Heather and I had some good ones. Staying green, Heather grabbed me from work for some thrifty home-cooked eatin’. Seeing the blog earlier that day, I suggested we make the potatoes. Brilliant (if I do say so myself).
My old (old as in we-go-back, not old-age) buddy, Heather, invited me to opening day of the play, Touch(ed). Heather had boasted on many occasions, how the University of Utah’s Pioneer Memorial Theatre is ecstatic about this world premiere play, the first time to hit the open stage. So, I held her accountable for the mildly high expectations I developed. Cut to the core of it all, Touch(ed) is about the love between two sisters. Kay (played by Jennifer Joan Thompson) has spent the last eight years visiting and caring for her mentally ill older sister Emma (Kelly Hutchinson). Tired and exhausted, Kay struggles to find a way to get her sister back.
